A fairytale that lives on in an online store

23.03.2026

Every online store begins with an idea. Sometimes it’s a clear business plan; other times, it’s a desire to create something personal – something that brings joy both to the creator and to customers.

As a business grows, however, it faces a familiar challenge: how to maintain its identity and uniqueness while expanding its product range and reaching more customers. How to balance creativity with the day-to-day management of an online store.

Nagumuinasjutus.ee is a great example of an e-shop that has grown out of passion and creativity. It’s a story of how illustrations evolved into an entire world, and how that world has grown, developed, and found its way into customers’ homes.

An online store born from the joy of creation

Nagumuinasjutus is an online store created by artist Kadri Võsumäe, inviting visitors into a cheerful and imaginative world. Here you’ll find wall art with playful animals, pillows, clocks, books, games, and much more for children. It is both a world of gifts and a place where every product tells its own story.

Kadri has been drawing her whole life. From a young age, she enjoyed creating characters and illustrating animals. After having children, she felt a strong desire to return to illustration — to create images that would bring joy into children’s rooms and spark curiosity about the world and learning. “My goal is to create images that tell stories, spark imagination, and bring joy to both young and old viewers.”

Kadri has also created illustrations for children’s books, board games, and various other projects. In addition to ready-made products, she offers personalized solutions through her online store and website kadriart.ee. For her, it’s important that every piece is unique and thoughtfully created for each individual client.

A creative process and continuous growth

The journey of Nagumuinasjutus.ee was not a sudden leap, but rather a steady and natural evolution.

“Since creating products by hand can be quite a time-consuming process, in the beginning I had only a few products available and customers didn’t have much choice,” Kadri explains. “But over time, I’ve been able to create and offer more and more diverse products. Every new idea has brought along new opportunities.”

“The Nagumuinasjutus.ee website is always a work in progress. Sometimes a new idea comes up for a product or a way to improve the design of the website. It’s all part of a fun and creative process that makes the work especially enjoyable.”

Collaboration also plays an important role. Whenever possible, Kadri works with other Estonian businesses and involves local partners in the production process.

An online store that works as smoothly as creativity flows

Although creativity is at the heart of Nagumuinasjutus.ee, the online store itself needs to function simply and logically. Kadri built her website on WordPress, valuing flexibility and ease of use both in setup and daily management. The same applied to payments – the solution had to be reliable and seamless.

“The MakeCommerce WooCommerce plugin was incredibly easy to install, and I haven’t had any issues with it,” she says. “Communication with MakeCommerce has always been quick and friendly, which makes managing both the store and payments very convenient.”

Kadri also points out a clear shift in customer behavior: more and more purchases are made on mobile devices, using modern and convenient payment methods like Apple Pay or Google Pay. This allows customers to complete their purchases quickly and securely.

The courage to experiment and keep moving forward

Kadri’s advice to other e-commerce entrepreneurs is to stay true to yourself, while also being open to experimentation. Not every idea will work immediately, but every experience brings something valuable.

“Sometimes a product just doesn’t sell — and then you learn from it, develop something new, and end up creating something even better.”

Every purchase made in her online store brings her great joy, and she is deeply grateful for it. “This kind of feedback inspires me to keep going and to create new and exciting products to surprise my customers.”

When the technical side supports creativity, growth follows

Nagumuinasjutus.ee is a great example of how creativity and e-commerce can grow hand in hand. When the technical side of an online store runs smoothly, there is more room for ideas and for creating value for customers.
